2009 - mixed media book - produced in a limited edition of 5 - 3"X3"X3" - As a writer I often find myself searching to find just the right word so that I may clearly and precisely say what needs to be said. This can often be a daunting task when one is faced with selecting a single word from a multitude of others that can be similar, yet different in meaning. For myself, "soft" represents the struggle of sifting through a tangle of words in the hopes of finding that "perfect" one.
The outer cover (or shell) to this piece is handcrafted from wool roving. The hinge and edge finishing were hand stitched, as were the approximately 40 debosssed pieces of text within the piece.
