This piece, which is about the experience of working the Tucson Gem Show, is actually a collection of eight smaller works. Each of the eight books represents a different collection of vendors at the Rapa River location. The individual books are filled with loose color and b&w prints which capture the people, place, and goods of this eclectic locale. Memories are conveyed through hand written text on the backs of the aged photographs. A map of the site, and small sack of merchandise samples are also included. A padded fabric display cloth, doubles as protective padding for the books while housed in the handcrafted wooden crate. The fabric contains transfers of images of wood chips and newspaper, to give the illusion of packaging material. Enclosed in the crate, is a personalized invoice that contains the hand written account of what led up to working the show and a little about the show in general. Finally, to top it all off, the packaging slip is personalized with the buyers information. Limited Edition of 3. ©2005. Copy #3 of 3 available.
